The Rose of East Des Moines hosted magician and comedian Jonathan Mays for an afternoon of magic and laughter. A large audience gathered for this event, and was invited to participate in a variety of mind-bending tricks. Spectators were enthralled by Mays’ performance, and loved having the opportunity to be involved in the show.
Aside from the excitement of the show, residents participated in all sorts of fun social gatherings and activities. On a quiet morning, many sat together to enjoy some coffee, doughnuts and conversation; later, everyone had a blast competing in rounds of Wii bowling.
At the Rose of Waterloo, a group met for their regularly scheduled Thursday morning ball game; as the weather improves, they hope to move this game outdoors and spend some time under the sun. Others got together in the community room for some arts and crafts, designing and creating paper heart decorations.
Our Open Arms staff work closely with residents to plan and engage in the various activities happening at the Roses; we aim to encourage and support active and healthy communities, where residents make the most of each day.
